| Abstract: | ... is an Active Networks project whose aim is to design a means of managing active services through the use of policies. To achieve this goal, several active software modules (called proxylets) have been developed, which can operate according to rules of operation that can be defined within a policy. Policies, together with events that can activate them, are specified in the form of XML messages. As part of the management system, a Management Information Distribution (MID) server together with a Directory Service (DS) and a content distribution network (CDN) have been developed to distribute policies, events, and even proxylets.
